Remittances have ample room for improvement by adopting blockchain and as the fourth biggest beneficiary of remittances from her diaspora — $34bn (2018), 9.6% GDP- The Philippines will reap some serious cost benefits with UnionBank- the 9th biggest bank in the country- and their partnership with OCBC for blockchain-based remittance solutions.

Love blockchain but hate crypto… We’ve heard that before but personally read that as having absolutely no handle on crypto. Mining rewards (crypto) are what incentivize node operators… This is essentially what the city of Busan, Korea is saying as they announce final confirmation of being designated as a Blockchain fee economic zone.

There are however, players that are getting it right. Not only will Norwegian Air accept bitcoin as legal tender, they are looking to set up their proprietary exchange a.k.a. Norwegian Block Exchange (NBX). Venezuela looks to keep the lights on by collecting aeronautical taxes via crypto; Germany designates crypto-assets as “financial instruments” and requires exchange and wallets to acquire BaFIN licenses from 2020 to operate in the country; Croatian government launched a pilot program for crypto-fiat conversions by her postal service.

Tron is grabbing a few headlines today. 58coin will discontinue offering $TRX futures post expiry of July contracts (TRX0726) as Justin Sun comes out with a (now deleted) OTT remorseful apology to have shilled the dinner date vowing to scale back on the marketing amidst the backdrop of rumors of brewing friction with PRC authorities. Kind of reminds me of the Chinese tycoons that mysteriously disappeared in the mainland, only to resurface weeks later toeing the government line. Nothing fishy going on there…

And the cherry on top, BitTorrent protocol author Bram Cohen is not a happy camper. 140million reasons if you ask me. Guess where his rage is directed

  • Huobi becomes the fifth licensed digital asset exchange in Thailand.
  • Ontrade to launch Ethereum Classic ($ETC) -2.8% spot & futures markets 29th July.
  • 21.6% of BTC supply has remained dormant for the past five years.
  • Pocketful of Quarters ($POQ) receives no-action letter from the SEC.
  • Bitcoin SV ($BSV) -6.4% as wallet operators experience a spike in errors following the hard fork.
  • Kraken hires Kevin Beardsley former B2C2 managing director.
  • Incorporating Bitcoin into your portfolio 101.

May the trend be your friend… Happy trading!
